The year 1980 is marked in golden letters in the history of Karnataka as it witnessed a great event, the \u201cGokak Movement\u201d that startled everyone, for, it showed to everyone how much the Kannadigas love their language and culture. The activists and some professors who kindled the fire, spread the movement to the entire state decided to start a school in Kannada medium to provide education that can enlighten the children. Nrupathunga Kannada Medium school is a result of this big dream. <\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The activists and some professors who kindled the fire, spread the movement to entire state decided to start a school in Kannada medium to provide education that can enlighten the children. Nrupathunga Kannada Medium school is a result of this big dream.<\/p>

The school is the brainchild of Kannada Vikasa Vidya Samsthe which got registered in the year 1989. It opened the school in a small rented house and today it has a beautiful campus of its own. Its aim is to offer education in Kannada medium. The country, after independence, realized that \u201cKnowledge is power\u201d and that the power of knowledge should reach every community in the country. The intention was also to provide education in regional languages throughout the country. But, unfortunately in the decade of 1980, education was changing from service to business. When the government gave permission to private sectors to open schools, it turned into a business. In the beginning, only higher education was affected by it, but slowly it engulfed school education. English medium schools that increased in the cities en-cashed the attraction of parents towards it and began to extract money destroying the mental faculties of the children and the rich language and culture of the people of the state.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The activities of the institution began to spread wider. Hence it was changed from \nKannada Vikasa Vidya Samsthe to “Kannda vikasa shaikshanika samajika samskruthika samsthe<\/span>“<\/strong> The year 2016 was a celebration, for, it was the silver jubilee of the school which was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Mr Siddaramaiah. On this occasion, a symposium was organized to throw light on national level issues of Geographical Boundaries, Water bodies and Language.\u00a0<\/p>

The children who seek admission to the school are deprived of the basic necessities of life to pay fees. We only take less fee from those that can afford to pay but others receive education free of cost under the program \u201cOdige Aasare\u201d It receives Rs. 4000\/ per student every year from people who love the language and culture and want to help us provide education to the poor children of the city to make them educated.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Co-operation of the Kannada Lovers<\/h5>

Some Kannada activists and professors started the school with very little capital. Later they received money, furniture, and things from the people of the society. \nIt Received a one-crore grant from the government for the construction of the Science and Commerce college in Kannada medium. Well-suited Science laboratories and Computer laboratories were constructed by the grants of the Science and Technology Division of the government. A lot of Kannada organizations and Kannadigas are staying miles away but they have touched our hearts through their funds to construct and develop the school and college.<\/p>

Odige Aasare Yojane and Odina Aasarege Sarige<\/b><\/u><\/h5>

It is a program to reach out to those that cannot afford to pay fees. It is a one-year\u2019s school fee per student given free to the student. Till now (Rs.4000) four thousand was received by the sponsor towards the expenditure per student. But due to the rise in the costs, it is now Rs.8000. It receives Rs 8000 from a single sponsor or Rs. 4000 from two sponsors. Odina Aasarege Sarige receives Rs. 1000 from the sponsors.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
